About JAMAS Community Center

JAMAS was founded in 2015 by a group of local families who saw a need for structured Islamic education and community support. Over ten years we have grown from a basement classroom to a full community center serving over 400 families.

Our board includes educators, medical professionals, and small business owners. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity. Our values are knowledge, service, unity, and integrity. We believe Islam is lived through action, not just words.

What makes us different? We are the only Islamic community center in Richmond that combines accredited weekend school curriculum with licensed family counseling and a transparent zakat distribution process audited by a third-party accounting firm.

Our Core Values

  • ๐ŸŒฑ Knowledge โ€” We provide structured, accredited Islamic education for all ages.
  • ๐Ÿค Service โ€” Our counseling and support services are available to everyone.
  • ๐ŸŒ Unity โ€” We bridge cultures and backgrounds under one umbrella of faith.
  • ๐Ÿ”’ Integrity โ€” Third-party audited financial transparency, posted quarterly.

Our Leadership

JAMAS is led by a volunteer board of educators, medical professionals, and small business owners โ€” all serving the community they live in.
